CM Revanth seeks Centre’s help in Musi river cleaning project

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met Union Minister for Hydro Electricity CR Patil on Monday.
He urged the Union Minister to allocate Rs 4,000 crore for the cleaning of the Musi river and Rs 6,000 crore for channeling Godavari water into Usman Sagar and Himayat Sagar Under the National River Conservation Plan, so that these reservoirs would fulfill the needs of the city.
The Chief Minister told the Minister that the State government has decided to clean the Musi river as the huge quantities of dirty water was flowing into it in the city.
The Chief Minister bringing to the attention of the Union Minister that 7.85 lakh houses in Telangana do not have drinking water tap connection, added that Rs16,100 crore will be spent to provide tap connections to these houses without taps as well as houses taken up under PMAY scheme.
